  1. Hello Jack,
I would like to let you know a little about this topic in my culture. In the past, almost 20 years ago, we did not have Mother’s Day or Parents’ Day. I think that because the Islamic culture commands children to respect, love, and take care of their parents, especially when they get old. Therefore, people didn’t celebrate this special day or they might not know anything about it. I remember and I heard about many people who took care of their parents completely when they got old, especially their mothers. However, I believe because of globalization and its effectiveness in the middle east through the last few decades, people started to know more about western culture including Mother’s Day. Therefore, for me specifically, my siblings and I began to celebrate that day about 15 years ago. At the beginning, we just made a small party for my mother and gave her some presents. But after that, one of my brothers suggested we do it for my parents. We lasted doing it for years. However, since 2018 when my mother passed away, my father told us there is no need to celebrate for him because he wasn’ty so interested in those celebrations.

    1. Every day is children’s day in my opinion, lol! But it’s good to show a little extra appreciation for our parents on a special day. But like you mentioned, it’s good to always respect our parents.
