Jack
Welcome to the A-Z English podcast. My name is Jack and I’m here with my co-host social. And today we’re going to do a short discussion.
00:00:23
Jack
On a topic and the question is, how do you get into the holiday spirit?
00:00:30
Jack
Or a better question, so so might be. Do you get into the holiday spirit? And because that’s the question I would ask myself, what about you? How do you get into the Christmas or the holiday spirit, I should say?
00:00:47
Xochitl
I don’t know.
00:00:47
Xochitl
Jack, I would say the Christmas spirit is kind of all around us when we’re in a country that celebrates it. So you would see like the lights, decorations or like.
00:01:04
Xochitl
The Christmas music you start hearing in the stores and the and the Christmas decorations you see everywhere, the Christmas items for sale like we talked about, like the eggnog or Christmas cookies and the grocery or certain treats or candies that are popular during Christmas but also in the stores you see like decor and like little else on a shelf and like ugly.
00:01:25
Xochitl
Christmas sweaters and different things that we kind of just wear during Christmas season as well. And so since it’s kind of all around us, it almost doesn’t feel like you have to get yourself in the Christmas spirit. It’s kind of the rust upon.
00:01:39
Jack
You’re right.
00:01:40
Xochitl
Sometime sooner than I wish it was. I just wish people would wait until, like December. But like sometimes it’s October and you’re already seeing this stuff and.
00:01:47
Jack
Ohh Halloween before Halloween, you’ll.
00:01:50
Jack
Hear Christmas songs on the yeah on the yeah.
00:01:53
Xochitl
I know it’s terrible.
00:01:57
Jack
UM my in my case.
00:02:01
Jack
I have to make more of a concerted effort to to put myself into the spirit, because in Korea the Christmas is a rather minor holiday. At least it’s more for the religious people. But it is a day off, but it’s not.
00:02:20
Jack
You know, if you want to get into the Christmas spirit, you have to go to the mall because.
00:02:26
Jack
You go to the mall. They’ve got the big displays with all of the Legos.
00:02:31
Jack
And the Santas workshop.
00:02:32
Jack
Up and the Christmas music is getting pumped out through the speakers.
00:02:37
Jack
And people are shopping and it’s and it’s cold. Like, that’s one way that I can get myself really quickly into the Christmas spirit or into the holiday spirit. Another one is listening to music. Like, I’ll play some Christmas music right now.
00:02:58
Jack
My wife and I have a a a small coffee shop and right now I’ve got it playing Christmas music in the in the in the in the.
00:03:08
Jack
Yeah, I also put up some lights here in my studio, my my little podcasting studio, so I’ve got some lights up and that helps me get into the holiday spirit.
00:03:22
Jack
So just all those.
00:03:23
Jack
Little things that we do, the lights, the decorations, the tree.
00:03:28
Jack
The music. That’s the way to kind of get yourself into the holiday spirit when you’re not surrounded by it all the.
00:03:34
Jack
Time and unfortunately I really miss not being home in America during Christmas time because I it is my favorite time of the year. It’s so nice.
00:03:48
Xochitl
