  1. Doug McBain

    Dear Jack McBain and Hendrick,
I empathize with Hendrick’s feelings but think Mr. McBain covered a variety of possible reasons for the failure of your friend to reach out this time. His advice is good and I especially appreciate his thoughts on Hendrick being the “bigger man” in this situation…..perhaps the friendship will be resolved over time after more information is known. It is true that after high school or college many friendships along the way pass into history and are not necessarily ended, but not attended to with enough regularity as our lives become more complex with layers of other things and people that take over our time and attention. Living in different places, marriage and families, careers, etc. Thanks for both of you tackling a difficult problem…….we are all human beings with feelings and sometimes as things in life change we feel offended or left behind……which may not be the intent of our friends (or former friends)…..but keeping channels open if you can is best.
