00:00:34

Jack

Welcome to the A-Z English podcast. My name is.

00:00:36

Jack

Jack and.

00:00:37

Jack

I’m here with my co-host social and today we are doing another quick chat episode and today’s quick chat question is.

00:00:45

Jack

Do you believe in?

00:00:46

Jack

The idea that blood type gives us information about our personalities.

00:00:55

Jack

So. So. So what do you think about?

00:00:56

Xochitl

That I think that there’s gonna be more than like 6 basic personalities.

00:01:06

Xochitl

Which I’m not sure. I think there are, like 6:00-ish blood types like AB A/B O and negative positive blah blah. But anyway there is a very limited amount of blood types.

00:01:19

Xochitl

And I think there are way more personalities.

00:01:24

Xochitl

Then there are blood types. I also think our personalities tend to be variable depending on the situation bit and the atmosphere that we’re in and the people we’re interacting with or the people that were around people are extremely complex and multifaceted. And I think a lot of these things like blood type or astrology.

00:01:46

Xochitl

Depend on very generic statements that can be applied to many types of people and ultimately you will agree.

00:01:57

Xochitl

With that, in some fashion of.

00:01:58

Xochitl

Your life, someone might say.

00:02:01

Xochitl

Oh, social, I can see here by your blood type that you’re really hard worker and I can sit there and be like I don’t know.

00:02:07

Xochitl

That doesn’t really describe me.

00:02:10

Xochitl

But like.

00:02:11

Jack

Or like you’re, you know, people with B blood type are indecisive.

00:02:18

Jack

It’s like everybody’s indecisive sometimes.

00:02:18

발표자

Right.

00:02:22

Xochitl

Yes, exactly or.

00:02:24

Xochitl

They’re yeah, just things that are variable. Like Ohh, you’re a really positive person. Well, it depends. People describe me as positive a lot. And I would agree with that. But it depends for anyone what point they are in their life. You know sometimes we get hit with the number of trials and tribulations.

00:02:47

Xochitl

Our listeners who are unfamiliar tribulations are basically the same things as trials, which is just hardships. You know that you need to overcome, and after a certain amount of time, anyone is going to face a downward slump. You know, not everyone can be positive all the time. No one can be +100% of the time.

00:03:05

Xochitl

And no one’s going to be -100% of the time.

00:03:10

Xochitl

So yeah when it.

00:03:11

Xochitl

Comes to personality. I think there are very few absolute truths and that’s why I think that the blood type.

00:03:19

Xochitl

Thing it just really it’s too narrow to really be applied with any certainty to peoples personality.

00:03:28

Jack

Yeah, I think our personality is part of our our brain. I mean really because if you look at like some studies and things like that, there are people who have had a traumatic brain injury.

00:03:28

Xochitl

How about you, Jack?

00:03:44

Jack

And it changed their personality.

00:03:46

Jack

They went from being a happy person to being.

00:03:50

Jack

A sad person or from being a sad person to being a happy person and you.

00:03:56

Jack

Know. Sorry, no, go ahead.

00:03:57

발표자

Sorry, go ahead.

00:03:59

Xochitl

I was just going to say a lot of times it turns people like really aggressive, especially if they have like an injury to the prefrontal.

00:04:07

Jack

Cortex, someone who used.

00:04:10

Jack

To be kind of kind of reserved or restrained to have a lot of self-control all of a sudden they lose that and they become.

00:04:21

Jack

And violence and things like that. And those are all aspects of personality. And I so I think the personality is really a part of the brain structure, not nothing to do with the.

00:04:34

Jack

Blood type. So I would say it’s kind of.

00:04:40

Jack

Maybe like?

00:04:41

Jack

00:04:42

Jack

Or when you.

00:04:43

Jack

Weren’t as sophisticated scientifically as we are now, obviously, so they made assumptions that like, ohh, a people with a blood are this way and people with B blood are this way. It probably made sense to them at the time.

00:04:59

Jack

But now it’s just.

00:05:01

Jack

What we call an English pseudo science, it’s fake science, not real science, and it’s I really don’t believe in it at all. I don’t care what a.

00:05:12

Jack

Person’s blood type.

00:05:13

Jack

Is. I don’t think it gives me any information about their personality. I’m more interested in how they behave.

00:05:22

Jack

A person’s behavior tells me more about their personality than than any blood type could ever tell me.

00:05:30

Xochitl

Right, I’m not a.

00:05:34

Xochitl

I don’t even know what my blood type is, so yeah, and I think if I like looked it up, I’m sure that there would be things that I could agree with about myself, but.

00:05:36

Jack

Right. Me neither, you know.

00:05:47

Xochitl

Yeah, it is pseudoscience, basically, and I think it’s interesting because it’s not just physical traumatic brain injuries.

00:05:54

Xochitl

But also a lot of like trauma that can happen that, like emotional injuries really change the way you think and behave. So they actually see big differences in the development and the form and shape of brains that have undergone undergone a lot of trauma.

00:06:15

Xochitl

So people with like CPTSD, which is complex PTSD, their pathways are essentially triggered into fight or flight much more quickly. And I think they’re like decision making process.

00:06:28

Xochitl

Is fundamentally altered for life because, like the prefrontal cortex, which.

00:06:34

Xochitl

Is what a lot of your decisions are based on. I know I’m absolutely butchering this and someones going like you don’t.

00:06:39

Xochitl

Know what the heck you should think it’s true.

00:06:41

Xochitl

But gonna from some stuff that I read, from what I remember, I’ll say it that way. Feel free to correct me in a comment.

00:06:49

Xochitl

Down below.

00:06:51

Xochitl

Our decision making is is a lot heavily based on the prefrontal cortex and people with trauma in their life, like emotional trauma and scarring, have effects their prefrontal cortex that makes decision making more difficult for them and impulse control more difficult for them later in life.

00:07:10

Xochitl

So I agree with.

00:07:11

Xochitl

Jack, I think a lot of our personality is.

00:07:15

Xochitl

Upbringing, genetics and it really comes down to like our brain and maybe our biology on some point. But it not, you know, not.

00:07:24

Xochitl

Our blood type.

00:07:26

Jack

Yeah, no, I I totally agree with that. Yeah, it’s not a blood type, but it it could. It’s definitely our experiences when we’re children, when we’re teenagers, when we’re adults, it’s also genetics. Our how our parents, our personalities are affects, what a personality.

00:07:45

Jack

Personality traits that we have. So yeah, I mean, I just think it’s very complicated and that like blood type is just a very simple way to look at it. They’re like, hey, people are nice, but B people are rude and old people are strange, but AB people are normal. I mean, it’s just very.

00:08:00

Xochitl

Right.

00:08:05

Jack

It’s so simplistic. It’s just really silly.

00:08:08

Jack

Just silly.

00:08:09

Xochitl

Right, right. So if you have something similar in your culture, I would actually be really interested to hear about peoples experiences and their culture like in Korea. Blood type is a thing in the West. We have a strong.

00:08:24

Xochitl

Energy. And I’m really curious about other countries. What do you guys use? Do you also use some form of astrology? Do you use blood type? Do you use like some other kind of traits, physical or spiritual or whatever to dictate peoples?

00:08:44

Xochitl

Personalities or to you know, incase people in certain personalities. I’m very interested to know.
